My granddaughters just returned from Girl Scout camp. The question on both my mind and their mother's what did you bake in your box oven. Apparently they didn't. Then as the questioning continued, both their mother and I realized we had forgotten how it worked when we were at girl scout camp. So my mission this Saturday was to look online for a description. Over the weekend I received copies of a new publication -- the digest format for Backyard Adventures. It has all the advetures and resources and at a much reduced price. I've seen this format on the magazine rack at the grocery store and discount stores. I don't think major book stores are carrying it. Want to have fun and save on food bills? Plant a garden. Gardening is a great activity for all – kids to seniors can share in the fun. You don’t need an acre or two. In fact you can start small with a couple pots of tomatoes on the patio or a few herbs in the window box. Not only do you have fun, you get to eat it too. There is really nothing like having a tomato for lunch that is still warm from the sun.
Your first step is to find a spot on your patio, in your yard, or a local community garden…

The festival will honor planet Earth by creating both environmentally and thematically “green” kites. The competition is divided up into master kitemakers and children with awar…
